About
us
The DC boys of leather is a
fraternal social club in Washington DC. We keep ourselves busy
with a variety of activities available in the Washington
DC/Baltimore area leather community. Our
membership is diverse, consisting of individuals in
from different ages, genders, and backgrounds. It's a great
way to come out and meet people if the thought of going to a leather
bar is intimidating.
History
Founded in 1999 by Ray Hall,
the DC boys of Leather is the worlds first leather boys' club. Our club
colors are also the origin of the boy pride flag, created by life
brother Keith Curtis. The definition of a 'leather boy' has grown
over time, but our cause is the same. We serve, grow,
educate, and have a great time doing it!
Our
mission
The
mission of the DC Boys of Leather is
to provide a supportive environment to have fun, learn, educate,
socialize, contribute, and grow as individuals and as members of our
community.
Our
purpose
Our purpose is to gather
in
brotherhood,
supporting our members, encouraging growth, exploration, development
and discovery while supporting our community with respect and
integrity. The DC boys of Leather is a group with a common dedication
to service and devotion to the leather community. We define the term
“boys of Leather” as broadly as possible with the intent of being
inclusive, and not being based on sex, gender, sexual orientation, sex
role preference, age, or appearance or other qualities prohibited by
law. One need not identify as a boy to become a member, but must
appreciate the mission and purpose.
